As people in India are buying new vehicles rapidly, there is a competition among companies to provide new vehicles at new and affordable prices. Recently, Nissan Motor India has released a new teaser in which a hint of a new car is seen.
It is expected that this will be an MPV based on the upcoming Renault Triber. The Japanese car company had previously announced that it is working on a new B-segment MPV as part of its future portfolio in India. It is expected to be launched in 2026.
That is, it will be officially introduced by the end of this year. However, no information has been given about the upcoming MPV in this teaser. In the Indian market, it will compete with models like Renault Triber, Maruti Ertiga, Kia Carens and even Toyota Innova.
The company announced it earlier this year. This three-row 7-seater car will be based on the same CMF-A+ platform on which the Renault Triber is currently based. However, Nissan will introduce it as a standalone model rather than a simple re-badge, which will make its design and interior different.
Let us tell you that the Triber is the cheapest 7-seater MPV in the country. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 6.30 lakh. The price tag of Nissan’s car can also be around this.
Possible Features
This Nissan MPV retains the design elements of the recently launched Renault Triber facelift. Also, brings a different look that makes it different from others.
It is likely to retain the new grille and headlamp design, but it will have a larger front bumper with C-shaped elements on either side of the lower grille. The rear-end is expected to have a revised set of LED taillights. The MPV will come with new alloy wheels and roof rails.
The interiors have not been revealed yet, but Nissan is likely to introduce a different style while retaining all the recent upgrades in the facelifted Triber.
The upcoming MPV is expected to come with the new digital console and infotainment system seen in the Renault model, while retaining its 7-seater layout.
The MPV is expected to be powered by the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine as the Triber. This petrol unit generates 71 bhp of power and 96 Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT.
With the official launch of the Nissan MPV, the company’s upcoming product pipeline has reached a total of four new models. These include a 5-seater and a 7-seater C-SUV as well as a mass-market EV.
